OPTIMALIST.

Optimalist uses biofeedback to give you an objective measurement of your stress, and helps you determine how different activities affect your emotional state. There’s this thing called Heart Rate Variability (HRV). It indicates the state of your autonomic nervous system (ANS). Optimalist can read your HRV with a quick scan of your finger via your phone camera and give you a real time reading of your body’s stress level. By taking that reading before and after different activities, you can track what works for you, and what’s helping you achieve your optimal state.

Optimalist gives you a report of activities and how each helped. If you are currently in therapy, you can choose to share this report with your therapist to gain insights, and also to help you stay on track, as it create accountability in your treatment.

What happens at the optimal state?

Your mind is clear, so you can make better decisions. Your reflexes and muscles are ready to act, so your hand-eye coordination improves and your movements get more accurate. Your mood is stable, so you’ll be less likely to lose your cool. Training your body to reach a physiologically optimal state allows you to be the best you.

Optimalist has two modes:

- Stress Check

A one minute measurement of your stress levels;

- Optimize

Insight on how your activity of choice is affecting your stress + a paced breathing exercise. You can track your body’s response to anything from work related activities, to taking a walk, to listening to your favorite podcast. This will help your ANS get back on the right track.

Optimalist is all about getting objective data on what works for you, TO IMPROVE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING.

I did my first stress check thinking I would score ok. I wasn't feeling particularly anxious or anything of the sort... to my surprise, the result showed I was more stressed than I thought. So at first, I didn't believe the measurement was accurate. I decided to try again after my yoga class, and what a difference! Since then this app helped me become more aware of what it feels like to be at a calm or optimal state, and also the opposite, and at that point nudge me to do more activities that help me feel more balanced.

I've been going to therapy and trying to "build up my coping toolbox". I made a list of things that I like with the intention of doing them...but it seems I never get to them. There is never enough time, or always an excuse. But with this app, learning in real time what helps me, has made a huge difference. With this app I even learned that playing with my dog had more of a positive impact than meditating! Although it sounds like a small thing, it had a huge impact on me, and how I am taking care of myself.

I knew social media was driving me crazy (stressing me out), but I didn't know to what extend. Now I use the breathing exercises while browsing the posts, and it is definitely helping me be in a better mood overall 🙂

I started using the app because of stress related to work. Deadlines, meetings, etc. I was feeling completely burned out. I knew I needed to do something to change, and tried many things like meditation but couldn't tell if anything was really working. This app *showed me* not only what was helping, also to what degree. I feel more in control, more productive, it even improve my interactions at work.
It even improved my golf!
